"Waves"
Corten steel, stainless steel, concrete, height 250 cm.
The continuity of the flow, the infinity of the flow of being from one form to another, reveals as widely as possible one of the most ancient ornaments - the meander. The name of one of the most iconic patterns probably comes from the river of the same name in Asia Minor, which has a very winding course. But this ornament was used long before the ancient Greeks. It is also known to our ancestors. The sculpture "Waves" is a synthesis of decoration and volume, a living line and conventional rectangular shapes. The sculpture was installed near the source of the Kyiv river Lybid. Lybid now, for the most part, flows underground, as if wrapped in metal and concrete. The sculpture symbolically depicts a stream that seems to break free from its paths and flows in a continuous wavy line, as the original personification of movement.
The modern world is setting too fast a pace, which is quite noticeable in megacities. We are trying to catch up with each other, to catch up with time. Therefore, within the city are extremely necessary places of comfort, to unite with yourself. For example, in the valley of the Lybid River, a small area of nature has been preserved, hidden among the industrial zone and residential buildings. The location has retained its original authenticity - it is a piece of "green" diversity with a small lake around which the capital is being built. The space around and the considerable architectural structures set the tone. The created sculptures, art objects, accumulate the surrounding space, and aim to engage the viewer in a dialogue with the inner and outer worlds
